backseat driver っていう言葉、聞いたことありますか？
「後部座席の運転手・・・？ハテ・・・」
答えは、自分がハンドルを握ってないのにあれこれ指図する人のことを言うそうです。
（助手席はちなみに ”passenger seat” ですが、passenger seat driver という表現はないようです）
確かに運転中にあれこれ口出し手出しされると、ちょっとうっとうしい。
「あ、車間距離せまいよ」
「ウィンカーいま出して」
「いま車線移ったほうがいいよ」
大丈夫。見てますから。
しかし、こういう表現がある、というのは、さすが車社会のアメリカ。
日本語には、こういう人たちを表す言葉はありませんよね。
backseat driver!
皆さんもどうかbackseat driver になりませんよう・・・
